A Young Boy With Tall Dreams
Bobby LaPonte is avowedly just a youth. He is 6 years of age, an only child, and resides with his parents in Johns Creek, Ga. .
Although Bobby has huge aspirations. While youthful in age, he's fully set on his fantasy to one day compete in NASCAR's giant scene, the Sprint Cup Series.
Bobby's dreams are so huge, essentially, that he frequently thinks regarding racing with the big fellows. As per to his folks, Larry and Nancy, he even mimicks the clamor of racecars while asleep.
Larry believes that his kid got his love of racing while still in the womb.
"I drove the amateur road course tour for ten seasons," he said. "When my wife was expectant with Bobby, she used to be there to watch me compete and we suppose that's when Bobby began his passion for nascar."
Much like Jeff Gordon with his daughter Ella, the LaPontes maintain pictures of young Bobby jumping in and back out his dad's race car when he was just a toddler.
Bobby would practice each day if he may, and he becomes that opportunity with the extensive driving season, from March through November, in the Southern component of the country. He and his dad drive every Saturday and Sunday, regularly going to other states, including Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee, to partake in their regional events.
This previous July, Bobby raced in his 1st countrywide title event. He won his semifinal heat competition.
Bobby is swift to tell you that he competes in quarter midgets, a lesser type of the USAC Midget Sprint autos that Cup racers like NASCAR's championship point head Tony Stewart begun his career driving.
Bobby lets you understand that since he intends to follow in Stewart's footsteps and follow that identical road in his own driving career.
This little guy indeed is looking forward to fulfilling his large NASCAR dreams, that of driving with his idols in the seasons in store. - 21392
