The Functional Purpose of Wind Deflectors

By Melody Quinney

Some people may think that wind deflectors are not really a necessity, or anything too important to have, but if you ask those who use them they will tell you they will never go back to their pre-wind deflector days. There are so many different reasons why wind deflectors make driving a great experience.

For those of you who hate sitting in a stifling or stuffy car and like to roll the windows down once in a while, wind deflectors are a must have item for you. Whether you own a convertible, a jeep, or just enjoy keeping the windows and sunroof open, here a few reasons why wind deflectors are a necessity for your car.

Everyone has experienced rolling their window down to find that the noise is too much and they have to roll their window back up. Wind deflectors actually reduce noise, so, you can enjoy your windows down without all the noise from oncoming traffic and wind.

Another reason why I'll roll my window back up so quickly is because I hate how the wind will come in and whip and tangle my hair. Wind deflectors actually solve this problem too. You never have to worry about lose items being tossed in the wind, or the oncoming air hitting your face.

Wind deflectors can make it so you can roll your window down even while it is raining outside. You don't even have to worry about the rain coming into your vehicle.

Believe it or not, they can also help your air conditioner and heater work better. The wind deflectors allow you to roll your windows down without a worry, and so the stale air in your vehicle can be moved out of the car, allowing your heater or air conditioner to perform to it's highest ability.

There are a couple different ways that you can attach a wind deflector to your car. You can attach it with tape-on, meaning with adhesive tape, or by in-channel. In-channel is when you place the wind deflector right into the window channel, but this is only available for certain vehicles.

Just like many others, and me, you will never go back to pre-window deflector days once you have experienced them for yourself. It doesn't matter what type of vehicle you have, window deflectors are sure to be a perfect fit for you and your car. - 21392
