Taking A Look At Honda Modesto Area Dealers And The Way They Do Business

Examining the Honda Modesto dealership network that thrives up in the Northern California community of Modesto and in the region at large shows that it is possible to make a nice profit and expand market share even when the economy is as troubled as it is today. This is due in part to the fact that Honda works closely with its dealers in delivering a generally superior product.

The story of Honda has an automobile manufacturer in this country is simple; it started out over 35 years ago introducing just one vehicle, the Honda Civic. And though it offered only one vehicle at first, the superior quality and craftsmanship of that vehicle made it an instant success, especially during a time when oil prices were increasing gasoline prices markedly.

Honda has grown steadily since then -- and it seems as if those 35 years have flown by -- to the point where it has been able to work with its dealers to constantly adjust to wild swings in not only car buying habits but in the economy that drives car sales overall. It's been able to improve its position in the market with each passing year, even in the worst market since the Great Depression.

As evidence of how well the dealership network -- including Honda dealers in and around Modesto, California -- does in helping to keep Honda at the forefront, consider that the company was able to place two of its vehicles in the top 10 (with the Honda Civic placing in the top three) among all vehicles sold in the government "Cash for Clunkers" program which recently ended.

Today, the company and its dealers have worked hard to make it profitable to sell cars and also to be able to gain market share in almost every segment. Of course, it helps when the cars that the dealers are selling are so outstanding, but the dealers themselves are also outstanding. That Honda builds many of its automobiles right here in this country may also be a big factor, for sure.

This is evident anywhere one looks when examining the Honda sales and service function. The company itself has a comprehensive series of guidelines for each of its dealers and it evaluates them constantly on how well they do in meeting those guidelines. The car itself is superior, so the dealer tends to concentrate on how well the prospective buyer of the car will mesh with Honda.

Looking at a customer as more than just a person who buys a car is considered to be the Honda way of doing things. Dealers in Modesto and elsewhere look at this "Way" as being almost like a religion. It helps that the product that is being sold is generally superior, but without outstanding service to back it up, there would be no repeat business, which the Modesto area dealer network benefits greatly from.

Taking a look at Honda Modesto area dealers and their success will quickly reveal that employing a business model that relies on superior product and then superior customer service will always help a company and its dealers win the day.
