By Edward Gainer

What're the advantages of spray painting your car with compressed air? To start with, it could be a real cash saver in the long term. There is a large investment required in the initial purchase of the tools, but once you have it, you will begin saving cash on your projects from there on in.

Another great advantage is that you have more flexibility in the use of the compressed air. Air pollution is a big issue in our current world. Hence, the use of aerosol propellants are frowned upon. The best answer to this is the compressed air sprayer.

Frequently people shy away from using compressed air sprayers because they think they're too challenging. This is not the case. Once you get abit practice, utilizing them there is no way you would want to go back to the aerosol spray.

The best paint to use in these sprayers is enamel, but say you add an appropriate conditioner to the acrylic and latex paints then you can utilize them successfully also. This'll permit the paint to flow the right way through the tube as it thins it down.

Established your working field the right way. When ever you're going to do several type of spray painting there'll be a certain amount of over-spray. Take all the correct safety guards. Do your work in a well ventilated region. Wear a mask for sanding. Be certain to wear goggles and preferably gloves too.

Once you are all set up then youre ready to begin. You will want to grind or sand off whatever rust and corrosion or rough spots. Then you must make sure the car is absolutely clean and dry before you start the application. For oil-based paints utilise mineral spirits, and for the latex ones soap and water will work fine, but rinse well.

If need be, prime the surface. Do your mixing of the paints and thinners you've chosen to apply. This can be a scraggly job, so protect the blending area with a drop cloth.

Now its time to switch on the air compressor. You want it to build up pressure while youre preparing your paint. You would need some of the air for priming and testing. If you look on the compressor, you should see a regulator. This would permit you to set the pressure you require for the sprayer. If you don't do this then the air flow would fluctuate and you'll end up with inconsistent spraying.

Attach the hose coupling to the sprayer. It is important you've an air tight seal so be certain it is attached tightly and wrap the join with various Teflon tape if you want.

Say you follow the right instructions that came with your original sprayer, it'll walk you through all of the steps. To start with, practice the paint application on other object. This way you will get the feel of managing the sprayer and be able to judge the exact consistency of the paint application. - 21392
