Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings Are All Over The Place

By Gary Peterson

The hype is all about epoxy garage floor coatings. All those plain grays and browns that are always affiliated with garage floor paint are "SO Yesterday"! Clear and vibrant red garage floor finishes are more common today. If you are watching TV and you see any garage floors that catch your eye, notice if the floors are solid colors or have just specks of color in them because that would mean that most likely they are epoxy. Nowadays, acrylic, resin and epoxy are the most common garage floor coatings, even though numerous people do not have a clue as to what those phrases mean. As you read on, this composition will give you the scoop on what epoxy is and the reasons for its use in current garage floor coating.

What The Heck Is Epoxy?

Almost everyone has used either epoxy or superglue to attach two things together that should've never come apart in the first place. If there was mixing involved, it was probably epoxy. Epoxy, by definition, is a mixture that includes polyamine and epoxide. After those two chemicals have mixed and cured, the compound that you get creates the incredibly solid adhesive known as epoxy. It's worth noting that the curing part of the whole thing will depend largely on the application. In garage flooring, the curing time is generally hours, while with some adhesives only take minutes.

Is Epoxy The Strongest Of Garage Floor Coatings?

The most durable garage flooring is generally accepted to be epoxy. The nature of the chemical mixture creates a compound that will resist everything from UV rays to rainwater, in addition to anything your car may throw at it. Since it's hard, though, it's not always pleasant to sit on, though it is better on your knees and back than a bare concrete garage floor.

How Does Epoxy Compare To Other Garage Floor Coatings?

If you take a look at the various garage flooring options, you'll see some garage floor paint is labeled as water or acrylic based. These are usually also epoxy coatings, and they may or may not be mixed a bit differently with slightly different balances than those garage floor coatings that more clearly show themselves to be epoxy based. For whatever reason, it seems that some companies want to lead consumers away from thinking their products are the same as the other guys, even if they basically are. Notice that the big guys like RustOleum and Quikrete garage floor pretty clearly say that all of their coatings are epoxy.

You Guessed It, Epoxy Is Now The New Future Of Garage Floor Coatings!

Although the technology has been around for a while, epoxy is quite capable of resisting even the most destructive of chemicals. Even brake fluid, which is capable of eating clothes if left alone, will flow right off of an epoxy garage floor coating. Eventually we will probably come up with something that is so volatile that it can even destroy epoxy (battery acid from some future electric or hybrid car, maybe?), but we're not there yet. For now, epoxy is the only garage floor coating you should need. - 21392

UK Pushes For Green And Low Carbon Buses

By Lisa Williams

The UK Department of Transport has pulled out a leaf from the environment book and setup a 30 Million GBP fund to buy low carbon buses. This move could be considered one of the most environment friendly moves of the Department of Transport because it not only aids in enhancing green cover in the country, but also adds to employment in the ailing manufacturing industry.

The green bus fund has funds that could buy some 349 buses. Expectedly, most of these buses will be hybrid buses and at least 55 new electric buses will also be a part of the purchase.

This entire move is aimed towards attaining greener environment levels and cutting back the CO2 emissions levels in the UK. And with the impending Climate Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark this budgetary allocation and a resolve to use low carbon buses will establish UK's credentials as one of the most environment friendly countries that is willing to cutback emissions for the sake of environment. Though the move is small when you compare it against the total fleet size of UK buses, it could become a precursor to bigger plans.

The decision to go in for low carbon buses will not only add to the green cover, but it is also likely to increase employment in the manufacturing sector. Initial estimates point towards a 1000 jobs being safeguarded with this move; and hence the manufacturing sector has welcomed the move of the Department of Transport. It allows them breathing space in the times of recession.

The low carbon buses consume up to 30% less fuel than the conventional buses, and thereby they save or cut back on the standard CO2 emissions of conventional buses. While the move looks a good strategy to test the success of low carbon buses, we are assured of getting even higher number of low carbon buses in the future. With a 0.2% presence in the overall fleet of buses, low carbon buses have a huge potential to ensure that they become majority presence in the total fleet of UK buses. - 21392

Many of these they would be quite happy to suggest that you have some invasive surgery or a chemical treatment instead. In recent studies carried out it has been suggested that HGH injections can slow and even reverse some of the signs of aging so effectively you are turning back the clock of time.

But medical studies carried out have yielded mixed results on the effectiveness of these therapies and so the surest way to achieve the desired effect that you are looking for is to have the injections.Unfortunately the cost of these injections can be quite costly (sometimes costing of $20,000 per year) and you will need to have a doctor's prescription so because of this cost more and more people are looking at alternative HGH therapies such as pills, sprays and powders which are claimed to increase the body's natural production of HGH.So why is it that they consider HGH injections to be a bad thing for us and what do these injections actually do?

No Car, No Washie

By Myer Thompson

If you think you go it without a car in LA, you're sadly mistaken. There is no way you can feasibly use mass transit -- the city (and its suburbs) are so vast, you could easily spend two or three hours trying to get to a destination that would only take you an hour tops to get to in a car. Just like you can't live in New York without a winter coat, you just can't pull off the car-less, eco-friendly lifestyle in Los Angeles.

I can't stress this enough: no car, no stay. You can certainly indulge your taste for big city living and take the Metro to one or two locations, but if you're feeling like exploring, you'd be hard pressed to navigate the overlapping, byzantine bus schedule with any kind of success. Los Angeles does not care about your green aspirations. Actually, it could not care less.

Maybe you ended up in LA thanks to a big old jet airliner. Maybe now you're eager to stay (it happens) and now you need to find a way to get around town. There are certain necessities for living here: housing, food, and a car. You argue which comes first, but I think it would be hard to get home or to the grocery store without a car. There is a reason why LA traffic is a cliche. In fact, the latest ratio of people to cars clocked in at 1:1. So, with about 9.9 million people calling the greater Los Angeles area home, you only have about 10 million cars to contend with.

Sure you can ride your awesome Schwinn bicycle around, especially if you live in Silverlake or Santa Monica, but if you're like the rest of us not-so-privileged masses, you need to go and go fast and usually go long. The old saw about anywhere you need to be in LA takes you twenty minutes is now more like forty-five. In fact, if you get caught in the traffic zones -- that is between the hours of 6 to 10 AM and 3 to 7 PM you will be spending a great deal of time in your car. Make sure it has air conditioning and a decent radio or CD player. Or at least make sure you have headphones for your iPod or iPhone.

If you need a car and you're in LA, you need a car fast. The longer you delay, the longer its going to take you to be involved. Need to find a job? You have to have a car first. Your best bet will be finding a used car. The good thing about trying to find a used car in Los Angeles is that you don't have to try very hard. The city abounds with relics, racers, and Rolls Royces. OK, so you can't afford the last one, but you can certainly find a clunker that gets decent mileage and won't conk out on you on the 101 or 405. Thank me later. - 21392

Now Is The Time To Get Information From The Smartest Automotive Service Training

By Ben Pate

What is Automotive Service Advisor Trainer and why should you consider investing in it? One sharp advantage is that with a good service advisor you can see an increase in sales made through the business. Plus you can actually gain more customers if your service advisor knows what to do!

Customers will be talking to that service advisor more than most of the other people in your location. So one who knows what they are doing will be appreciated by that customer. Someone who can explain things to them in a way that is easy to understand.

Most companies just don't realize how important that position can be to their company. In fact, for many years the service advisor was basically ignored when it came to training. That's because they were seen as a part of the business that wasn't very important, more the person who only took the orders. That has never been the case and today, even less so.

Since a service advisor was only seen as a person who would take orders and nothing else, there were a lot of sales that could have been lost. With a well-trained advisor you will find you can also gain a salesperson in that position. One who will see you earning more profits, and enjoying more business.

That's right, your Service Advisor Training is actually a person who can be a salesperson too. They may be the main point of contract when dealing with customers. If they sell extra service, it will increase your profits and the customer's happiness as well.

A lot of people are not a natural salesperson, however, so they need training to learn that job. That's a thing that can be learned through the training of your service advisor. One that may cost you a bit of money, but will also earn you more money in sales when they know how to do it.

You will see that you normally get in three different types of customers to your business. First will be the customer who needs work done, but the car isn't in your shop yet. Getting them to buy extra services can be done by a service advisor who has been trained correctly.

Next will be the customer who is only calling about prices or services that are available. This will be when the proper training can really come through for you and your advisor. Knowledge and training used together will be able to talk this customer into your business as the place they should go.

They may just be calling to see if it's a repair they will be able to do themselves. A trained service advisor will be one who can talk them into coming to the business, getting that checkup and getting the service all done at your business. - 21392
