Regular Oil Changes Keep Your Car in Top Shape

By Wesley Draperton

Getting an oil change for your vehicle is one of the single most important things you can do for your vehicle. Staying on top of it is the difference between a vehicle running horrible after five years and a vehicle running like new after ten years.

Think about how human bodies rely on water. It lubricates us, keeps us cool internally and externally, and carries nutrients to the body and toxins out of the body.

The main part of your engine is comprised of several cylinders with pistons in them. Tiny explosions are created inside these cylinders making the pistons go up and down at thousands of times per minute. The only thing stopping your pistons from wearing down these cylinder walls is motor oil. You can imagine how tough the oil has to work eliminating metal on metal contact as much as possible.

Can you imagine that heat caused by the pistons going up and down and all those explosions. Its massive! If not for the motor oil in your car than your engine would quickly overheat and blow several gaskets in several seconds. Motor oil is specifically designed to hold and transfer heat inside your engine.

Oil cleans your engine massively. Exploding gasoline or diesel creates a lot of "blow by" and these particles can really harm your engine. Oil traps a lot of this, as well as any other sludge, and takes them to the oil filter to be cleaned out. Without oil, or enough of it, your engine "gunks" up rather quickly.

There really is no reason for not staying on top of your oil changes in our modern day. Your motor oil takes a beating with all the duties its expected to perform and needs to be replaced on a regular basis. You can try to change the oil yourself but this can be quite challenging in newer vehicles without the right tools and you still have to dispose of the waste oil. In every town or city there is a quick lube not too far away from anyone eliminating any excuses for not getting an oil change when it comes time.

A typical oil change will cost about $30-$40. You can get cheaper oil changes but I tend to avoid those places because the service is bad as they hire less than qualified people and their goal is often to bait you in their shop and find everything in the book wrong with your car resulting in a $400 or more bill. In some places you can even check and see if there is a mobile oil change service available. This makes getting an oil change even easier than waiting at a quick lube for twenty to thirty minutes during your lunch break, after work, or on the weekends.

Stay on top of your oil changes. It will keep your vehicle running like new. Motor oil is the lifeblood of any engine and far too many people go thousands of miles past their vehicle's proper interval. Its best to go 3,000 miles for any gas engine and 5,000 for diesels. Doing this will make sure you get a lot of good years out of your very expensive investment. - 21392

Building Hydrogen Cars

By Hillary Howell

Many companies are currently considering whether or not it is feasible to create hydrogen cars. They are really examining this concept. Most car manufacturers have already begun to develop hydrogen cars.

Rather, they are only available in the demonstration models. The registered number of hydrogen for vehicles to the USA was 200 in April 2007, mainly in California. The funding came from the private sector and government sources.

Funding has come from both private and government sources. There would be so many advantages to fueling a car on water. These include less pollution.

It would be so advantageous to own a car that runs on water. It would offer less pollution. This would be possible since the only thing that will leave your exhaust is water.

Plus, a benefit is the ability to breathe the air that is free of carbon monoxide. To summarize, water-powered cars would allow people the chance to travel cleaner. They would also travel cheaper and more effective.

To sum it up, water fueled cars would allow people the chance to travel cleaner, cheaper, and more efficiently. A water fueled car would use only water as its fuel. This would be conducted by generating hydrogen fuel from a tank of water.

They would also be able to travel much cheaper and more effectively. A water-powered car uses only water as fuel. This would be done by the production of hydrogen as a reservoir fed water.

According to New Scientist magazine, the Researchers have discovered that they can mix the element boron with water. This will produce hydrogen.

It would be powered by hydrogen fuel to produce a water tank. Research has found that it is possible by mixing the element boron with water.

Then it would produce hydrogen gas. This can be used to fuel an internal combustion engine. It can also be used to generate electricity by a fuel cell.

There is a lot of hydrogen in water. So it could be a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Traditional hydrogen production is inefficient and costly. - 21392

Recognizing Great Insurance Supermarket Deals

By Alex Chong

When you are looking for great insurance supermarket deals, recognizing a savings plan is a must. Finding great deals can be as simple as combining only the insurance coverage you need to create a custom policy that also fits your budget.

If you own or drive a vehicle, it must have auto insurance coverage. Drivers who avoid tickets and points on their license can receive bonus discounts on coverage. When an accident occurs, you want to focus on recovering and repairing your vehicle, not on who cause it or if they were covered.

Renters insurance provides coverage for apartment dwellers who want to ensure protection of their valuables in case of fire, flood, storm or vandalism. Some policies even offer coverage for emergency relocation services as a part of the program.

Boaters insurance is a safeguard measure that protects various kinds of watercrafts for a variety of reasons ranging from theft to water damage in a hurricane. Finding discounts for this type of insurance may not be as easy to come by.

Homeowners insurance is designed to cover the home itself and the contents therein. Valuables stored inside the house as well as the construction of the facility itself are protected with a policy that specifies the particulars of coverage. Natural and unnatural disasters pose no cause for concern with insurance to protect your home and belongings.

If you love to travel, particularly outside of the country, you know that your medical insurance is not accepted in many foreign countries. Whether it is a ski accident or possible food poisoning, when you need medical attention, travelers insurance will ensure that you get the necessary care to get back to enjoying your trip.

Although some may consider it morbid, the truth is that no one will live forever. Life insurance is the sensible way to ensure that your final expenses are not left as the burden for your loved ones to carry. Funeral costs alone are thousands of dollars. With proper coverage, your loved ones can provide a regal burial and settle your estate properly.

Insurance supermarket shopping allows you to save drastic amounts on premiums for all of your coverage requirements. Discounts for combination of policy needs can create additional savings that amount to hundreds of dollars that stay in your pocket. Supermarket shopping for insurance allows you to pick exactly the type of coverage you need and avoid added unnecessary costs to your regularly scheduled premium bills.

Why pay for coverage you don't need or won't use? Go insurance supermarket shopping instead. Many insurance companies offer online options to configure a quote from several agencies all at once. This convenience helps you determine at a glance which policy will best suit your needs and budget. There are many life changes that require adjustments to your insurance policy. Start with a list of your coverage needs and then go shopping insurance supermarket style. You'll be glad you did. - 21392

What's Different About Michigan's No Fault Auto Insurance?

By Aaron Winslow

There are some things about Michigan auto insurance that you might not be familiar with if you've only registered cars in other areas in the US. This insurance is legally required in this state, and made up of three major segments. These are residual liability for bodily injury and property damage to others, personal injury insurance and property protection insurance. When registering a car in Michigan, it's important to be able to prove you possess this insurance, since driving without it is illegal.

Michigan's no fault insurance policies provide for full reimbursement of medical costs, and for the money you lose from being injured, up to a three year period. As of 2007, that amount was up to a little over four thousand, five hundred dollars. People who are killed in an accident and have Michigan auto insurance will be paid up to that amount every month for three years, based on the earnings of the person who has died.

In addition, if someone is injured and can't provide housekeeping or other services for their family, they may be entitled to up to twenty dollars per day to hire other people to do this for them. It's possible to synchronize this kind of coverage to any disability or health policy you currently have to reduce your premium. However, Medicaid and Medicare policies cannot be synchronized. Synchronized policies then become the primary payer, with your Michigan auto insurance covering remaining expenses.

Users of Michigan no fault insurance who damage personal property like buildings and fences can have their insurance company pay up to a million dollars for that damage, as well as damage which has been done to correctly parked cars.

The no fault law in Michigan is also useful for protecting people covered by Michigan auto insurance from lawsuits, though there are situations where you can still be sued. If you caused an accident where someone else was seriously hurt or killed, you were involved in an accident with an out of state car, or your accident occurred outside of Michigan, you may still be sued.

In addition, if you were more than fifty percent at fault in an accident, you may be sued for up to five hundred dollars in damage to the other car. However, in situations where you're sued or are legally responsible for damages, your Michigan no fault insurance will pay up to your coverage limits.

There's a minimum requirement of twenty thousand dollars worth of coverage for property damage and bodily injury coverage to handle situations where a person is injured or killed in an accident. For accidents where several people are injured or killed, up to forty thousand dollars of coverage is required. To cover property damage that happens outside of Michigan, you'll need to have up to ten thousand dollars of Michigan auto insurance coverage. Just remember that if the court awards more than this, you'll be responsible for the excess you need to pay.

Michigan no fault insurance doesn't cover everything, either. For instance, you don't have to have insurance available to cover fixing your own car in an accident or when flood damage, theft, vandalism, or other types of non accident damage occur, or for covering uninsured motorist damage. However, this kind of coverage is available as part of Michigan auto insurance, even if not required by law. - 21392
