Dangers Involved With Speeding Offences Within The United Kingdom

By Christos Chalfont

Traffic accidents that have the highest rate of severe injuries are usually caused by someone who was perpetrating some speeding offences. This and driving while under the influence are some of the higher causes of traffic deaths on the roads today. Just because your car can go faster does not mean you have to do it.

Driving faster than the legal limits can endanger you and people who are innocent bystanders. Serious injuries can be caused due to these unsafe driving practices. How would you feel if you actually killed another person just because you could not adhere to the speeding limits posted?

You will get a citation either as you are pulled over by the officer or within a set amount of time for a date at court to be set. Sometimes if the law was not broken by a certain mileage rate then you may be able to give the officer the money for the fine on the spot.

If you get caught going way over the legal posted limit them you will face serious criminal type charges and will be taken in and booked at the station.

If this is the case then your driving permit may be disqualified for a certain amount of time. The length is determined by how many citations you have gotten before and how much over the posted limit you were caught doing at this particular time.

Adults should be aware of their surrounding as well as the speedometer when driving as well as the younger teenage drivers. This will help to prevent injuries and insure everyone gets to where their going safely. People who take it a little slower on the roads may get their just a little slower but they will arrive with their passengers unharmed and able to spend time with their loved ones instead of in a hospital or worse.

Do not put everyone at risk when driving, be able to follow the driving laws. They are their for everyone's safety. Those who get speeding offences should be held accountable for their actions and country's and states should make these even harsher to get the point across. - 21392

Toyota's New Small Car On Display In Auto Expo, New Delhi

By Lisa Williams

Autoexpo started in New Delhi, India. Being the first automotive show of the new year, we can expect a grand launch of some of the smaller cars in India. Infact the show has gained credence on account of the special appeal for small car segments comprising of Asian countries and the Latin America. And hence, there is awe and speculation for the events that are supposed to unfold in the next few days.

The first day honours seem to have been shared by Suzuki and Toyota. Now, Suzuki has all along been a strong brand in India. So, traditionally, Suzuki has always launched new vehicles at this time every year. However, it is Toyota that has caught the fancy of visitors and analysts. It has announced a decision to launch Etios, a small car that will available in 2011. The car is expected to be priced under 10000$ or 6000 GBP.

Now, while a price tag of under 10000$ is something that is not confirmed as of now you may do well in realizing that one of the Indian manufacturers is already manufacturing and selling a small car to seat 4 people at an astounding price of 3000$. And, before you write it off, I will like to add that the manufacturer in this case is TATA, and the same manufacturer bought the rights to Jaguar brand from Ford and Rover from Standard. So, there is quite a bit of action as far as small cars are concerned in India.

For the folks in US and UK, the price may look like a shocker but it is not. While we need to understand that the mid-size and high-value cars are still going to enjoy a place of significance in the scheme of things of manufacturers like Toyota, the small cars must be considered as a way for Toyota and some of the other players to minimize their risks. Recession seems to have driven the need to diversify and reduce risks. Small cars have a huge scope, especially in the high volume markets.

While this may be a premature conclusion, but it seems Toyota is really mixing up the things to grow and sustain its future growth. Since it is based in Japan, Toyota will be able to handle Asia very well. And coming as such after the success of Toyota Prius, I think Toyota seems to have made the most of Recession. - 21392

New Car Blues, Old Car Cues

By James Pynn

Everyone loves a new car -- we've been programmed to love them. But, if you're thinking about buying a new car -- think again. Though it's pretty and smells, well, like a new car, it could well be the worst investment of your life. Don't let the allure fool you - think of it as a siren's song, calling you to the rocky shores of harsh reality. When all is said and done, you could be paying nearly twice the cost of the car when your financing is complete.

Would you pay $60,000 for the privilege of driving a $30,000 car? When you have your senses about you, of course not. But, the new car industry is carefully positioned -- on television and in magazines -- to sell you a car you can't afford and frankly, don't really need. Think of it as a kind of automotive credit card offer. It sounds good, but once the interest rates and late fees are done with you, you'll be paying two or three times the net value of the balance.

Take a step back from the boob tube and think. Instead of watching the latest model race around TV, you'd be better off looking for some used cars for sale. This doesn't mean you should set your sights on a clunker without a tailpipe. No, no, no. Even last year's model would make a better investment that this year's. Go back a few more years, and suddenly that car that costs $20,000 new only sets you back $2,000 used. It's called depreciation and it's either your best friend or worst enemy.

The exact figures vary, but the general rule of thumb is a car loses about 15% of its value every year. So, a five-year old car is worth rough half as much as the newest model. The trick is finding out the age of the car. Most drivers are convinced that a used car will break down more often and cost more to maintain in the long run. This is neither here nor there. In some cases that may be true; it all depends on the durability and invested upkeep. An owner who regularly changed the oil and kept the car clean at all times will have a more valuable and dependable car to sell or trade in.

If you want an affordable, reliable car, this is essential You need to do you research, test drive each car on your list, and ask questions -- lots and lots of questions. If Slick Rick on the lot is squirming every time you ask a question, you need to leave and find a new lot. Once you have established the provenance of the vehicle, and it's verifiable and reasonable, you've got the lead on a great, durable car that will not drive you into bankruptcy. - 21392

Compare Apples to Apples in a New Car Comparison

By Steve Simpkins

If you are doing a new car comparison, it is important to compare apples to apples. It would be foolish to compare a SUV to a compact car as these two vehicles are meant for different markets. Instead, take one class of car and drill down to see which one is right for you.

We'll start with the coupe market. We'll consider 4 vehicles priced between $17,000 and $19,000: the Volkswagen Golf, Dodge Caliber, Kia Soul Exclaim and Mazda 3S Sport. Here's one difference: the Golf has a 2.5 liter engine while the 3S Sport has only a 2 liter engine. The Exclaim Soul and Sport have lower displacement than do the Golf or Caliber. The Kia is the only one without front side airbags.

At the other end of the spectrum, you also see similarities and differences between cars. For instance, the Rolls Royce Ghost and the Mercedes Benz S-Class are very similar cars. Very similar in many ways except for price. The Ghost starts at $245,000 while the opening bid on the S-Class is just $133,000. So, if you are not worried about the cache of driving a Rolls Royce, the S-Class could be a bargain.

The small SUV market also has similarities and differences. We'll look at four vehicles here: the Kia Sportage, Suzuki Sportback, Nissan Rogue, and Mitsubishi Outlander. These vehicles range in price from $19,000 to $22,000. Some of the differences are apparent in horsepower. The Sportage has only 140 horses while the Rogue comes in at 170. The vehicles also differ in their highway miles to the gallon with the Sportage coming in last at 25 miles to the gallon and the Sportback in first place at 30.

When you are making a new car comparison, it is important to consider cars by class rather than make judgments between different types of vehicles. Different cars are made to suit different drivers. A Mini Cooper is not the ideal vehicle for a family of six, for instance. When you compare like vehicles, you get a sense of what is the best value for you. - 21392

What Driving Habits You Should And Shouldn't Have

By Adriana Noton

The driving habits that you practice could mean the difference between life and death in many situations on the road. A lot of people just don't think ahead at what the consequences of their bad habits behind the wheel until it is too late. Make sure that you don't practice bad habits while driving your car is super important.

Cell phone use while driving is being prohibited in more and more places around the globe. There have been many people who lost their life in a car accident due to their use or someone else's use of a cell phone while driving. Driving should be a time when you are completely focused on the road and other drivers around you, not the latest gossip from your friend on your cell phone.

Texting on a cell phone has become one of the most popular forms of communication there has ever been. The trouble is, however, when people try to text while driving, they also lose all their concentration of the road. There have been already many accidents due to someone texting and not paying attention to the cars in front of them. This is also becoming an illegal act in many places.

Many car accidents are caused from someone following too closely behind anther driver. This is also considered one of the most irresponsible driving habits that you could have. You can never tell when the driver in front of you may have to come to a sudden stop.

Some bad driving habits can cost you a lot more in gas. You should always pay attention to the limit and stay at that speed. If you drive over 60MPH, you are doing nothing more than wasting gas and risking lives. Going this fast won't get you to your destination that much faster so it is simply not worth having an accident over. Driving too fast will also cause your car to use much more gas than it needs to.

Did you know that your motor idling during a traffic jam uses more gas too? Although this is sometimes an unavoidable situation, you can make sure to try and detour the places where you know for sure that traffic is going to be heavy. Saving on gas is one of the best driving habits you could have.

Don't you hate it when you are behind one of those drivers who suddenly decide to turn without ever having used a turning signal? This is certainly bad driving habits in practice and could cause a serious accident. If you are guilty of not using your turning signal when you plan to turn, make sure that start making it a habit.

How many people do you think would be alive today if they had remembered to put on their seat belt before they started out in their car? Do you think they just figured that they were just going a little ways down the road and they would be straight back home? This is why many have died due to not wearing their seat belts. Accidents can happen close to home in just the same way as if they do farther from home. - 21392
