Why You Should Consider A Honda Civic

By Andy Zain

Honda Civic is ranked not only in the top ten, but also in the top five in many of the categories that vehicles are ranked by including the category "Best new car for new drivers". The 2007 Civic ran away with this one. With its super user friendly controls specifically designed with the new driver in mind, and its excellent reliability it makes an excellent choice whether you're looking for a car for yourself, or your new teenage driver.

Now, let's take a moment and go back to 1976 where we will see the launch of the all new Honda Civic. Since then it's fame has continued to grow. Due to not only its visual appeal, but also it's record of reliability. Let's not forget to mention it's sustained high safety ratings.

When the 2009 release came, eight generations of Honda Civics, with all of the changes that have come and gone, the technical details still hold all the integrity and user friendliness of the original. It is no wonder this car has claimed the title of the best car for teenagers. While proud of its 0 - 60km/hr time of 8. 6 seconds, it is ecstatic about its top ranked safety rating.

Honestly, the parent searching out their teenagers first car, and the teenager seeking their first "wheels" aren't going to have the same criteria on their lists. The parents list will likely include safe, reliable, efficient, economical and low maintenance. On the flip side will see the teenagers lust for speed, appeal, comfort, personalized accessories and of course let's not forget sporty. Everyone who has seen the movie The fast and The Furious, knows what teenagers like.

With all the emphasis on buying locally these days, the Honda Civic has got you covered. It is currently produced in two locations in North America. So while it may not be built around the corner, or it may be, it is a locally produced North American vehicle. While the 2009 release of the Honda Civic has brought some changes, much of the technical details have remained the same.

Now at this point it would be wrong not to mention Honda Civics unique lighting system. It is reported that due to their bright illumination and focus, the path the vehicle is travelling is very bright and very clear. And on top of that, their taillights are said to have enhanced clarity and extend the visibility range a great extent.

The Civics lights have been specially designed for sleek, elegant looks while drawing substantially less power. This increases the life and reliability of the battery and electrical system. Which in turn reduces the maintenance requirements of your vehicle. They are offered in a range of color temperatures from 4300k to 30000k.

In short, when you purchase a Honda Civic you are getting a car that has repeatedly received excellent ratings both inside and out. A high safety rating and visual appearance second to none. No need to compromise on your list of requirements when your list and your teenagers are so aptly met all in one car. - 21392

How To Handle A Hit And Run Accident

By Graham McKenzie

You may be following the entire right rule while driving, being safe and protective as well as following all of the laws. The scariest part about driving for most people is not getting behind the wheel themselves but the fear of whom else is behind the wheel on the road. Not all follows the rules and that is how accidents happen.

The one rule you expect everyone to be following is to have insurance, it is against the law to drive without it so you expect that the cars on the road are all legal. The problem is that many people do drive with no insurance and they are the number one culprits for hit and runs.

When you are in an accident you look forward to other person will stay at the scene and wait for the police to be called, you can fill out a report, switch over insurance companies and then deal with the damage later after you are off the road. If you are involved in an accident with someone who does not have insurance or for some other reason they are not wanting to face the police you might not have this experience. You could be involved in an accident and see the car that caused it speed off and never to be seen again.

At the scene of an accident, the major rule is to remain calm. Do not start pointing fingers and trying to blame each other. Make sure that everyone keeps a cool head and this will go over much more smoothly. After that, make sure to document the license plate number. You do not want the person to run off never to be seen again.

A police report has to be filed for a hit and run incident no matter how small it is in order for your insurance company to be able to file a claim. If you have underinsured or uninsured motorist coverage or hold full coverage on your vehicle the insurance company will handle all the repair and medical expenses that were involved with the accident up to the limits of your policy.

You will be responsible for any deductible you have within your policy. Even though the accident is not your fault you will have to split over the deductible amount in order to have the insurance company cover the remaining costs. It may seem unreasonable but it is much better than being left with the total bill. In most cases hit and run drivers are not found if the driver of the vehicle involved does not think fast and take down the license plate number. If the police do find the culprit then you will be able to turn the matter over to your insurance company and they will charge the individual for the amount that is to be paid and if you choose that you can take them to civil court to be reimbursed your deductible and any other out of pocket expenses you may have encountered due to the accident. - 21392

Toyota Hybrid Sports Car

By Anton Rowd

Every loyal customer to Toyota and the people behind the company itself are looking forward to 2008. Why? Because that is the slated release for the much-awaited Toyota hybrid sports car dubbed the Volta. Toyota has always been known to set itself apart from all other car manufacturers, releasing some of the most outrageous designs that seem to grow onto society once the cars establish themselves as bestsellers.

Japan Goes Italian

Toyota's hybrid sports car can only be a real head turner. This is what's expected when you have an elite group of designers to give the new concept car a new, nice Italian twist. Pictures of the concept car have emerged from the company itself and the first thing that may come to mind is the Lamborghini Diablo; only the Volta is eco-friendly.

Toyota is out to show everyone that the hybrid technology can also be applied on high-performance auto like the Toyota Volta. After all, it is rumored to go from 0-60 in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph; not as fast as the Diablo or any Ferrari but the important thing is how much gas this vehicle doesn't use.

The Name Game

The Toyota hybrid sports car also pays homage to Alessandro Volta, the man who invented the electric battery in 1800; very convenient and quite an honor considering that this vehicle does run on a type of battery. The Volta runs a V6 engine and there's an electric motor on each axle.

Toyota Volta motor will be used to run several things like the computer responsible for the movement of the wheels, activation of brakes, etc. This is basically something known as drive by wire, a technology that is fitted into modern fighter jets, so you can imagine how much time in design was spent on this near-future release. This technology also allows for an awkward feature that can have the passengers reposition the steering wheel and pedals in front of them.

Economy

Two centuries after the invention of the electric battery after which the new hybrid is named, Toyota aims to have the Volta out and running by 2008. It is expected to have a tank that holds only 13.7 gallons that will allow it to go 435 miles when filled up. Plus, if 408 horsepower isn't enough, you will just have to weight for later versions of the Volta because this is the top speed estimated for the initial release.

Toyota France is expecting its release to the European market by 2008. However, Germany might be happy to know that the car will be for sale there by December of 2007. Experts are speculating that prices for the Toyota hybrid sports car will range from $72,000 to $165,000 in the US market once it hits North American shores.

Ready or not as a market, Toyota itself is ready to prove that hybrid technology does belong in the automobile industry and will suit any purpose and application. - 21392

A Small Truck For A Big Job, Ford Ranger

By Andy Zain

The Ford Ranger was introduced into the market in 1983. The truck was first introduced as a replacement for the Courier, which had actually been produced by Mazda, but had the Ford name. The Ranger has been produced every year since then and remains one of the most popular sellers of Ford's vehicles.

Although the bed of the Ranger is smaller than the standard sized Ford F-150, the design was originally made so that a four foot sheet of plywood would fit inside the bed. The sheet will have to ride on top of the wheel wells, but it will fit.

The cab of the Ranger is designed to hold two passengers comfortably. Some of the extended models have jump seats that will allow a third or fourth passenger to sit facing sideways behind the driver and passenger seats. While the jump seats are small they provide adequate seating for children or small adults. Thus, the Ranger can be a four person vehicle that will also carry four foot sheets of plywood.

Throughout its production, the Ranger has been a successful vehicle for Ford. With over twenty five years of history, the Ranger remains a good seller. Body style for this truck is now into its fourth generation. The body style has changed as the body styles of the F-series trucks have changed.

The smaller size means better gas mileage and these trucks are very popular among commuters who enjoy driving a truck but still need the better gas mileage offered by the smaller truck.

The current Ranger is built with a 2. 3 liter or a 4. 0 liter engine. Although it was available in a V-6 engine in earlier models, the Ranger no longer offers this option.

Today's Ranger is one of the few small trucks that are being built. Both Toyota and Dodge have increased the size of their former small sized trucks to the midsize range, leaving the Ranger as the only option in today's market.

Ford mad the decision a few years ago to spend advertising dollars on the Explorer series rather than the Ranger a few years ago, and the result has been that sales of the Ranger have been lagging. Promises from Ford are that the Ranger will be produced until the 2012 model year. This, in part is due to the demands for better fuel economy.

Again, according to rumors, the Ranger will be replaced in 2012 by an Australian Ford truck that was not originally intended for sale in the United States. Ford has already begun test marketing the vehicle in the United States. The newer truck will be available in the United States only with a 1. 6-liter engine. In other parts of the world, buyers can opt for a diesel engine that is a 3. 0-liter engine.

Ford Rangers have been very popular Fords for several years. They offer fuel economy, but drivers can still feel free to carry a payload in the truck. Engine sizes slowly increased offering the later trucks more power than the first ones. New engine styles can offer the same power with lower fuel consumption. - 21392
