Inexpensive Auto Glass

By Michael S.

The number one question you have to answer, in regards to dealing with a cracked windshield, is whether you need a complete replacement (which will cost you around $200) or just a repair (which is priced at around $40).

The chances of you needing a replacement dramatically increase if your windshield has cracks, which make for an uneven surface. You're also more likely to need a replacement if you have cracks that are in the middle area of the windshield or at the perimeter edges of the windshield.

If we see a crack in our windshield we automatically assume the worst and think that the windshield is going to crack in no time. This is not really the case because the windshield consists of a 2 layers (2 plastic layers sandwich in a glass layer). As such, you can expect your windshield to last a long time without further damage, especially if the crack is tiny.

If you want to stay safe, however, it is advised that you call an auto glass service in your area. The crack may start getting bigger and bigger. And, before you know it, you're going to need a full replacement of your windshield.

You shouldn't worry too much if you realize that you need a replacement of the windshield. After all, glass is not nearly in the same price range as expensive auto parts. You can easily get a big discount on the cost of replacing your windshield if you go to a junkyard and find one there. Because glass has no color, you're very likely to find a windshield that matches your car.

After you purchase the used windshield from the junkyard, it is best that you seek the services of an auto glass business as you may cut yourself if you try to install the windshield by yourself. It will cost about $40 to get the pre-owned windshield installed.

A lot of people wonder whether their car insurance can pay for the costs to repair their windshield.

If cracks start appearing on the windshield from normal wear and tear, your auto insurance company is not going to compensate you unless you have comprehensive coverage. If the cracks are related to an auto accident in which the other party was found to be at fault, then their property damage liability will pay for the cost to repair or replace your windshield.

Despite this, its always a good idea to talk to your car insurance company as insurers vary in their stance on auto glass repairs. - 21392

Automotive Radiator Flush Is An Easy Job

By Wayne Allen

With driving every day and a busy life style it is easy to let the little things go for a bit to long. When you are in heavy traffic and it is the worst possible time for an mechanical problem that is when it is going to happen. There are some simple automotive repairs that you can do to try to avoid problems.

A radiator flush is a very simple job that most people can do. A properly maintained cooling system is very important. It keeps the motor cool and it also helps the AC cooling system functioning correctly.

Before you begin the job make sure that you have everything you will need. The radiator flush solution and proper amount of coolant. The tools you will need are a rag, screwdriver, funnel and a receptacle for catching and storing the used coolant until it can be disposed of properly.

The first thing you need to be sure of is that the motor has had plenty of time to cool off. The last thing you want is to be burned by hot coolant. Once the radiator drain or the lower radiator hose has been removed from the radiator the fluid will drain. Take the cap off to speed up the process.

Be sure that the receptacle is positioned to catch all the coolant. If the coolant spills over it can be quite messy and lead to more clean up time. Coolant can be toxic to animals and it has a sweet taste so they will drink it if you let them and it is not good for them. The solution is do not let them drink it.

When the coolant is finished draining replace the plug or the hose which ever you removed. Then add the radiator flush and fill with water. Put the cap back on the radiator and start the motor. Turn on the heater and let the engine run. The instructions usually call for 10-15 minutes. After the engine has run for the instructed time turn it off and let the engine cool down again.

After the motor is completely cool drain the flush and water into the approved container again. Then fill the engine with the proper amount of coolant for your area. The coolant bottle should tell you what is recommended for your climate. Some severe climates call for a 50/50 mix of water and coolant. Do not use only antifreeze in your cooling system as it is very corrosive.

There are a few easy automotive repairs that you can do yourself. Just remember to always make sure the radiator and engine is completely cool. The excess fluid should always be stored in an approved container and discarded properly. - 21392

Searching For Electric Scooters Online

By Banga Koupit

So, fire up the computer and begin by typing in Electric Scooters which should bring you enough sites to check. Electric motor scooters all have different features and checking the models out on the web gives you the chance to compare them side by side without leaving home. You will be able to pull several pages at one time to help you compare and make your decision.

Not only is it a time saver to shop online it can also be a real help when you have health issues. No painful walking from store to store, as you can just check them out using Electric Scooters website. Most of the sites also have a way to contact them with questions, usually by giving an email address on their website or they have you leave comments directly on their site. Many parents usually look to bikes as their gift of choice instead of electric scooters in order to limit the child's speed to just their pedaling ability. While bicycles may be a great form of exercise, most kids want something that is more inclined to fun rather than physical effort.

The real question though is whether electric scooters are safe. Surprisingly, scooters are very much safe as long as the parents or guardians ensure proper safety measures. If you think riding a bike is safe, then electric scooters are just as safe as they have similarities in safety rules. Scooters may even be safer than bikes since they are usually made of tough plastic materials and the child doesn't need to make many physical movements that can cause possible injury. No need to worry about prolonged usage because the battery time is limited and doesn't allow the child to go too far.

Electric scooters for kids are both safe and fun and are far better gifts than regular bicycles. They are quite inexpensive and will bring a big smile to any kid's face. Just keep all of the safety measures in check and your scooter will produce hours and hours of fun.

With an electric engine, the scooter emits zero carbon pollution, and to recharge the batteries with enough juice to run for fifty miles costs about 25-cents. Even if your gas powered bike gets 100 mpg, with gas priced at only two dollars per gallon, that still costs four times as much to travel the same distance.

The decision about whether a gas or electric scooter is best for you boils down to a lot of personal factors that can best be answered by the consumer going out and giving both options a test ride or two. By thinking about how, why and when you are going to be using your scooter you can then have a clearer picture about which power source is best for your transportation needs. - 21392
